SGH Energy

The value of Seven Group Holdings’ energy assets is held across the SGH Energy production, development and exploration assets, and a significant equity interest in Beach Energy Limited. The SGH Energy portfolio comprises:

  • The Longtom field (100% SGH interest) in the Gippsland Basin off the south-east coast of Victoria, with both developed and undeveloped conventional resources and existing infrastructure in place, is ideally positioned to supply the demand for gas along the Australian East Coast. The Gemfish exploration prospect within the Longtom production permit remains an upside opportunity for exploitation with future Longtom development.

  • The Crux field (15% SGH interest) located in the Browse Basin off the coast of north-west coast of Western Australia, is a joint venture with Shell Australia Pty Ltd as Operator (82% interest) and Osaka Gas (3% interest). The current concept for the Crux project is a Not Normally Manned (NNM) platform containing minimal processing facilities and utility systems. It will be operated remotely from the Prelude FLNG facility and only require periodic maintenance visits, significantly reducing the operational safety exposure to staff. It will be tied back to Prelude via an export pipeline. An initial five production wells are proposed to be drilled.

  • Also located in the Browse Basin is the exploration permit WA-377-P (100% SGH Interest). The permit contains the Echuca Shoals gas discovery and the Schrodinger and Cooper prospects. These prospects are strategically located within tie-back distance (40-50 km) of both the Prelude and Ichthys LNG hubs, which are expected to commence production this year.

  • In the United States, the Bivins Ranch asset (11.2% SGH interest) located in the Texas Panhandle region is a producing onshore oil, gas and LPG asset with Apache Corporation as Operator. SGH Energy has an 11.2% interest in Bivins Ranch, Texas which is an onshore oil, gas and LPG producing asset Joint Venture operated by Apache Corporation.
